Bluetooth in-ear headset for mobile devices

Mobile listening enjoyment has a new name: Byron. Our new headset series combines great sound with high-quality workmanship and ease of use.

Other products in the Byron series:

Powerful sound

The Byron BT in-ear headphones offer an exceptionally detailed music experience on your mobile device. Strong, consistent sound with controlled bass ensures absolute listening enjoyment and epitomises our highly musical standards. Look forward to in-ear audio excellence.

Wireless transmission

The Byron BT is the first wireless headset in our range. Music and phone calls are transmitted via Bluetooth. This gives you new flexibility with our usual excellent sound. The use of Qualcomm aptX® codecs ensures top-quality Bluetooth transmission. The acoustic transducers for right and left ear are connected to one another simply by means of a short cable. The earphones can be connected very simply and wirelessly to your mobile device using the Bluetooth connection. Tangled headphone cables are therefore a thing of the past.

Hours-long music enjoyment

A high-performance rechargeable battery supplies the headsets with energy for up to 7.5 hours. A voice prompt informs you of the current charge level. Any USB port can be used for charging, for example using a smartphone charger or laptop. The appropriate charging cable is included and fully charges the battery in the Byron BT within two hours.

Microphone and remote

The Byron BT headset is equipped with a 3-button remote control and a hands-free microphone for use on Apple and Android devices. All playback functions can therefore be controlled with ease – without having to take the smartphone or tablet from your pocket. You can use the remote control to pause the music as required, skip forward to the next title or adjust the volume. Thanks to the integrated hands-free microphone, not only can the Byron BT headset be used for listening to music but also for phone calls. Calls can be answered and ended with ease on all popular smartphones.

High wearing comfort

A perfect fit is essential to provide full sound quality and ensure enhanced listening comfort also over longer periods of time. The Byron BT headset therefore comes with replaceable silicone eartips in three sizes. You can replace these small silicone plugs yourself with ease and choose them in a size that fits your ear.

Moreover, we have also taken into account the fact that some people are very active while wearing their headsets: Two ear hooks are included as bundled accessories for this purpose. The silicone loops are assembled in addition to the normal attachments and nestle into the earshell while wearing. The earphones thus always fit perfectly into the auditory canal.

The Byron Bluetooth In-Ears from beyerdynamic are worth the listening, both the wireless model, which we tested, and the wired counterpart. Our practice test on an inland flight brings positive insights: a balanced sound with highs and basses. The headset almost works like an active noise canceller and the wireless transmission is without any loss due to aptX codec. "

Conclusion: A classic price-performance banger.

When using mobile phones or when being on the move you also want to enjoy a real good sound. This is exactly what the new Byron series from beyerdynamic provides.

[...]

At present this series includes three models. The Byron is a wired in-ear headphone, which is available at a very reasonable price of 50 Euro with a remote control optimised for Android devices.  In contrast to this the Byron BT and BTA models operate with Bluetooth – thus they are wirelessly connected with the appropriate device – and provide an extremely high comfort of wearing as well as an excellent sound, whereas the BTA also supports the AAC codec and is also the top of the series.

All three models give a very noble and subtle impression when they are first unpacked. After all, looks play a part as well, apart from that the good durability is not unimportant. All three models come with a smart case for storage and three pairs of eartips – the latter is important so that the listener can optimally adapt the earphone to one’s ears making the in-ear headphones optimally unfolding their sound.

With the beyerdynamic Byron BT, you do not just purchase better sound, but also a significantly expanded freedom of movement - because this In-Ear headphone connects via Bluetooth to appropriate devices and so you do not even have to carry this device with you, but can move freely in the room. The connection, however, is no more than five to ten metres, but that is more than enough to move around in the room or apartment. Should the connection fail, the headphone will search for the device and reconnects automatically when it is within reach. Very convenient.

This is where the optimal position of the headphone is of course even more important, in addition, there are so-called "ear hooks " included, with which you can additionally secure the small buttons in the auricle. Especially when you wear the headphone for sporting activities they are a useful security. The pairing with Bluetooth devices, by the way, is very easy and done within one minute. With later applications the devices recognise each other. The remote control works with Android and iOS devices, very convenient. Especially those who use the new iPhones, which do not have a headphone connection anymore, will be happy about the new Bluetooth Byrons. The three in-line buttons allow you not only to start and change the volume, but also to accept or reject calls, to step through the songs, or to mute the microphone during a telephone call.

On the whole, the Byron BT is as simple as a wired headphone, but it offers clearly more comfort of wearing and freedom of movement and is compatible with more different devices. By the way a USB cable is used for charging directly on the remote control either via a computer or an appropriate USB adapter. Apart from that a normal charging cable, as it is supplied with smartphones, will do as well. By the way charging from 0 to 100% only takes two hours, the charge lasts about seven hours – sounds good, doesn’t it? By the way: It is quite cool that the earphone housings are magnetic.  So when you take them out of your ears you can put them together in front of your throat - then you wear them like a necklace. Very smart, someone was thinking ahead.

The new Byron series from beyerdynamic is convincing right away, and if you just want to replace the supplied headphones of your smartphone and look for good sound, comfort and solid manufacturing, the Byron Wired is the right choice for you. You receive a real good sound at a very reasonable price. Those who prefer the comfort of a wireless headphone or who have a device without headphone socket can choose between the two Byron BT and BTA models which feature a great design and manufacture and which can be comfortably worn and sound really great. The exquisite BTA is a little but up in all categories – whether you want to pay the extra price, you should decide when comparing the sound. I am definitely delighted, the Byron BT and the wired model provide a real great sound at a fair price. It is strongly recommended to try it out.

In the bass range the Byron BT has a lot to offer, for some it could be too lively and voluminous, but in the depths it still remains in the decent range. The mids go slightly down, cleverly emphasized highs ensure transparency.

A sound that is fun. Those who have not planned any head acrobatics and enjoy a good foundation, should try the Byron BT from Beyerdynamic."

    Sound: 80 percent
Comfort of wearing & background noise: 70 percent
    Hardware & functions: 80 percent
    Total: 78 percent*

*Sound makes 50 percent of the overall rating

The result is relatively clear: in terms of sound, the NuForce BE6i and the beyerdynamic Byron BT (test winner) offer more than the rest of the test field. Even if they lie in the same way as sound: these two models are clearly different from each other in the sound characteristics: for those who want a crisp, bass-like sound the Byron is the right choice. It is also more comfortable in the ear.
