Title: The way to the heart goes through his ears

It is not a lightweight due to the matt powder-coated metal yokes, which hold the large circumaural ear cups that also contain metal inserts. Under the removable headband pad there is also metal. No question this device has been manufactured to last for years. No wonder that there is a generous warranty of 5 years for the MMX 300.
The weight is pleasantly distributed on the noticeable but not disturbing pressure from the sides and the comfortable headband. I would not say that you forget you are wearing the MMX 300, but that does not mean that this headphone is uncomfortable to wear. On the contrary: sessions lasting hours in Rainbow Six: Siege, DayZ and Elite: I survived “Dangerous” without any tensions and the need of removing the headphone. A special praise for the isolation, the ambient noise should not mean that this headset is suppressed to 18 dB according to the manufacturer, what I really believe. I am sure I never had a better passive isolation on my ears before.
But now this is the most important thing: the sound. Beyerdynamic is known for powerful and clear, but never exaggerating sound transducers. This is also true for the MMX 300 without any restrictions. It is one of these ear-opening headphones, which make you hear things you had never noticed with its predecessor such as some special sort of leaves in DayZ that crackles different under the feet than the rest. A gust full of snowflakes that blows in Rise of the Tomb Raider through the ears from the left to the right. Ballast stones of different sizes, which brutally jump into the wheel case of a 3 series BMW in Dirt Rally. Even the locating of footsteps in Rainbow Six: Winning is now easier with the MMX 300 than before.
The bass never spills across different frequency ranges and covers important details. Here reigns unexcited, confident transparency, which many headphones have forgotten over the past years of bass mania. The humming is only then present, when it should be, but then really. When after a stun grenade in Siege the ears are ringing or in Tomb Raider heavyweight boulders play “Whack-a-mole” with Lara in the leading role. It is extremely pleasant, how self-confident the Beyerdynamic spreads out the sound to an acoustic panoramic format. There are a lot of new features which are really pleasant. At the same time one is over the moon how powerful and balanced the headset even sounds when the volume is low and how fine, clean and crystal-clear even very high volumes remain.
The MMX 300 is a wonderful all-rounder for gaming and music enjoyment, which cannot be impressed by anything.
The microphone is also completely convincing, although I cannot claim to be impressed of it in equal measure as I am of the sonic performance of the headphone. It picks up only little disturbing ambient noise and has no empty noise. The voice reproduction is clear, precise and true. Does its thing and is not negative. Not suitable for concerts of course, but more than a solid microphone which you can expect for this price.
What a headset!
The MMX pursues a precise, equal playing in all areas of sound as the highest goal and is therefore suitable for demanding ears. It sounds absolutely balanced, transparent and is equally well in all games and music genres. With this, it is an absolute delight to rediscover the visual aspect of one’s favourite games and albums!
