As true wireless headphones certified by Google and Apple, Alexa and Siri can also be used to assist you. Gamers and binge-watchers will also get their money’s worth: the Low Latency Mode ensures perfect synchronisation of picture and sound. And the Light Guide System with its series of different coloured lights makes operation easy. Use the beyerdynamic MIY app for other modifications and updates for Free BYRD.

How can I do a software update?

Connect the two earphones in stereo mode, as described in the Quick Start Guide, to a playback device that has a stable Internet connection.
Then open the MIY app (from version 2.6.) and connect the earphones to the app there as well. Make sure both earbuds have at least 50% battery each. If new software is available, this will be displayed. Click "Update", then click "Install Now". A progress bar shows you how far the update has progressed. When the installation is complete, the earbuds will restart automatically and you will receive a success message.

How does sound personalization work for the Free BYRD?

Via the MIY app using MOSAYC - "Attention to Detail with Mimi Sound Personalization" you can go though a hearing test and create your individual hearing profile, which is uploaded to the earphones afterwards. This way, you can enjoy personalized audio that fits your hearing, no matter which playback device you use. You can update this process anytime.
MOSAYC is available from software version 1.1. An update is easily possible via the MIY app.

How can I find my Free BYRD if I lost it?

This is possible within Google services. Pair your Free BYRD via Google Fast Pair. Disconnect it if it was previously paired conventionally and pair it again via Google Fast Pair. Go to your Google account (Android -System settings) and to "Devices and Sharing", there on ""Devices", then under "Saved devices" you will find the "Free BYRD". Your name is derived from your Google account.
Here you can ring your Free BYRD or find it at its last location.
